Backing up and restoring saved conﬁgurations

At times you may want to store the completed conﬁguration of your 3088/I on a PC so you can return to a

working conﬁguration easily. Click on the Backup/Restore Conﬁguration hyperlink under the System Manage-

ment menu.

To back up the current saved conﬁguration, click on Backup conﬁguration in your computer hyperlink. You will

have the option of either viewing the conﬁguration ﬁle or saving it directly to your PC. (See ﬁgure 23.)

To execute the reverse operation, click on the Browse… button, ﬁnd and select the conﬁguration ﬁle on your

PC. Then click on the Restore button for reloading the previously saved conﬁguration into the 3088/I.

Authentication

In the System Management section of the Conﬁguration Menu, click on the Authentication hyperlink. In this

window, you may change the superuser password.

The other function is to create an additional user. In deﬁning the new user, you can permit or prevent them

from changing the conﬁguration (view only) and also from dialing in to the unit for remote management. (See

ﬁgure 24.)
